Laurie Brown

With more than twenty years of experience as a training facilitator, Laurie has earned a reputation as a highly engaging and effective professional whose work gets results for clients.

Laurie has a broad background in a variety of training methods, including workshops, satellite distance learning, video and film. She has conducted training for clients from Ford, General Motors, GMAC, BMW, Volkswagen to Visteon . She has provided facilitation and training on subjects as varied as marketing and sales, customer service and facilitation skills. Her training career has taken her across the United States and abroad, working with culturally diverse audiences at all corporate levels.

One of her specialties is presentation skills for non-native English speakers. She is passionate on the subject and has worked with both corporations and individuals helping them understand the power of a dynamic presentation. She is currently writing a book on the subject.

Her excellent communication skills and supportive approach to learners have earned her the highest evaluations from trainees and clients alike.

Laurie is a member of ASTD and the National Speakers Association.

Laurie has collected a team of instructors and coaches that are certified to lead this workshop.

Sarah Hoefflin

Our speech coach, Sarah Hoefflin, has worked with executives, engineers and other international clients to optimize their pronunciation of American English and create clearer, more understandable speech for American audiences. Clients learn new speech habits that enable them to produce the sounds of American English. They also learn how to enhance their natural speech to achieve greater listener comprehension.

Sarah's own experience with second language acquisition guides her training. She taught English language skills for four years in Germany and learned to speak fluent German as an adult. She knows first-hand both the possibilities and limits of changing an accent as an adult and excels in guiding her clients to develop their communication strengths.

Sarah has a master's degree in speech-language pathology from the University of Minnesota and is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She is a member of ASHA and TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages).
